Family of Joseph Ray UTNAGE
(Fifth child of Joseph C. UTNAGE & Eliza Harriet HAWKINS)
Joseph Ray UTNAGE
born: 11 Aug 1893 Benton, Scott, MO
died: 01 May 1959 Advance, Stoddard, MO
married: 12 Jan 1923 Scott County, MO
buried: Walker Cemetery, Bloomfield, Stoddard, MO
Harriett A. "Hattie" SLOSS
born: 15 Aug 1887 Leef Township, Madison, IL
died: 12 Nov 1960 Advance, Stoddard, MO
buried: Walker Cemetery, Bloomfield, Stoddard, MO
parents: Robert Campbell SLOSS & Mary E. BRITTON

No children were ever listed on either of the census records I found. If they did have children, the only possible way of finding that out would be to visit the Walker Cemetery where they are both buried to see if they have any children buried there. Joseph and Hattie are the only 2 Utnages listed on the Find A Grave website for the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, so I am assuming there are no other Utnages buried there.

World War I Draft Registration
It is noted on here that Joseph was crippled in the hips, caused from labor. The word labor is hard to make out and I could be wrong about it. Whatever caused this could have also prevented him from having children. (Just thinking out load. No way to know for sure.)

1930 Census
They own their home in the Morley Township of Scott County. They do not live on a farm. Joseph is listed as a laborer who works at farming and at the cottin gin.

1940 Census
Ther are not living in the town of Pike in Stoddard County, Missouri. They still own their own home, which is now on a farm. Joseph is listed as a "Food Man" working in one of the WPA (Works Progress Administration) programs.
